How Good Were the Offers?
IIIT Delhi groups its full-time offers into three salary bands:
- A+ offers (₹12.50 LPA or more): 372
- A offers (₹7 LPA to ₹12 LPA): 222
- B offers (below ₹7 LPA): 88, of which 60 were later upgraded to A or A+
The institute says it added the B category “to create more job opportunities for the students.”
Out of 682 full-time offers, 679 were in India and only 3 were overseas.
What These Numbers Really Mean
1. The ₹1.22 crore offer is one offer, not the norm. The highest package is usually a single, exceptional offer. The average B.Tech package of ₹20.77 LPA is a far better picture of what most students get. Even averages can be pulled up by a few very high offers.
2. Your branch matters a lot. CSE and its related programmes placed over 91% of students, while B.Tech ECE placed 69.70%. If placements are your main goal, compare branch-wise numbers, not just the college’s overall figure.
3. Offers are not the same as students. 868 offers does not mean 868 students got jobs. Some students get more than one offer, and the total also includes summer internship offers.
4. “Placement %” depends on who is counted. Colleges usually calculate this out of students who registered for placements, not the whole batch. IIIT Delhi’s page doesn’t spell out the exact definition, so use these numbers to compare branches, not as a guarantee.
