Corrections Policy

When We Get It Wrong, We Fix It.

How THE STUDENT CHAPTERS™ handles errors in published content, and how you can tell us about one.

Our commitment

THE STUDENT CHAPTERS™ (TSC) aims to publish accurate information. When an error is found in something we have published, we correct it promptly and openly, whether the error was found by our editors or reported by a reader.

How to request a correction

Readers, people mentioned in a post, contributors and institutions can all request a correction. Please include the link to the post, what you believe is incorrect, and the correct information with a source if you have one. Send your request through our contact page.

How requests are reviewed

An editor reviews every request and checks it against primary sources. Where needed, we contact the people or institutions involved before making a change. If we conclude that the post is accurate, we reply and explain why.

How corrections are shown

Factual errors are corrected in the post itself, and a correction note is added at the end of the post with the date of the correction and a short description of what was changed. The updated date shown on the post reflects the change.

Spelling, grammar and formatting fixes that do not change the meaning of a post are made without a correction note.

Monthly current affairs

Errors in the monthly current affairs edition are handled in the same way. The correction is reviewed by an editor and noted with its date.

Updates and removals

Posts may be updated when new facts emerge; the update is noted in the post. We do not remove published posts on request alone. A post is removed only in exceptional cases, such as a legal requirement or a risk to the safety of a person, and that decision is made by the editorial team.

Our standards

Read how we source, verify, edit and label our content in our Editorial Policy.
