SIBM Pune: What This College Actually Is

Symbiosis Institute of Business Management, Pune (SIBM Pune) is a constituent institute of Symbiosis International (Deemed University), located on the Lavale hill campus near Pune. It was established in 1978, making it one of the older private business schools in India. In the NIRF India Rankings 2025, SIBM Pune was ranked #11 in the Management category — confirmed directly on the institute's own website and its official blog.

Official website: sibm.edu

Courses and Programmes at SIBM Pune

Based on SIBM Pune's own listing on the official SNAP admission portal, three MBA programmes are currently offered through SNAP:

MBA (flagship) — a full-time, two-year residential programme.

MBA (Innovation and Entrepreneurship) — full-time, two-year residential.

MBA (Human Resource Management & Integrated AI Analytics) — a newer programme, also SNAP-based.

For each of these, eligibility is a bachelor's degree from a recognised university or Institution of National Importance, with a minimum of 50% marks (45% for SC/ST candidates), as confirmed on SNAP's official eligibility page.

Note on specialisations: SIBM Pune's own site does not carry a single consolidated public page listing individual MBA specialisations. If you need that level of detail, check the specific programme page on sibm.edu before applying.

SIBM Pune Admission Process

Admission runs entirely through SNAP (Symbiosis National Aptitude Test), a common entrance exam for all Symbiosis institutes, conducted by Symbiosis International (Deemed University) itself.

The process: register for SNAP on snaptest.org, select SIBM Pune with a separate programme fee, and — if shortlisted on your SNAP score — appear for a Group Exercise and Personal Interaction (GE-PI) round conducted by the institute, followed by a merit list.

SNAP 2026 dates (official, from snaptest.org): Registration runs from 21 August to 25 November 2026. The exam is held across three test dates — 13, 19 and 26 December 2026 — with the best of up to three attempts counted. Results are declared on 12 January 2027.

Application fee: ₹2,550 per SNAP test attempt, plus a separate ₹1,000 programme registration fee for SIBM Pune (both non-refundable).

Cutoff: SIBM Pune does not publish an official SNAP cutoff. We're not including a number here, since anything not published by the institute itself would be an unverified estimate.

SIBM Pune Fees — Batch 2026–2028 (Current, Official)

This is the fee structure for the batch currently being admitted, pulled directly from sibm.edu's own Fees Structure page:

Academic Fees: ₹6,55,000 per instalment, across 4 instalments over 2 years — ₹26,20,000 total

Institute Deposit (refundable): ₹20,000

Hostel Deposit (refundable): ₹20,000

Hostel Fees, Year 1 (three-sharing room): ₹1,57,300

Mess Fees, Year 1: ₹1,19,600 (₹59,800 paid twice)

Year 1 total, per SIBM's own instalment breakdown: 1st instalment ₹9,12,100, 2nd instalment ₹7,14,800

Year 2 hostel and mess fees are marked on SIBM's own page as "to be communicated" closer to that year, since these can vary. Payment deadlines are at the time of admission, then 25 November, 25 June, and 25 November across the two years.

What will two years actually cost? Academic fees (₹26,20,000), both refundable deposits (₹40,000) and Year 1 hostel and mess (₹2,76,900) add up to ₹29,36,900. SIBM hasn’t announced Year 2 hostel and mess charges yet. If they are similar to Year 1, the two-year total comes to roughly ₹32 lakh. This estimate is ours, not SIBM’s. Fee figures are from sibm.edu; the total is our calculation.

We could not locate an equally current, official fee document for the MBA (Innovation & Entrepreneurship) or MBA (HRM & Integrated AI Analytics) programmes for this same batch, so we're not publishing fee figures for those two here.

SIBM Pune Placements — Only What's Confirmed by SIBM's Own Reports

SIBM Pune publishes its own Campus Recruitment Programme (CRP) reports on sibm.edu/placement-report. The latest one we could verify is the CRP 2025 report for the MBA Batch of 2024–26.

CRP 2025 (MBA Batch of 2024–26): Highest CTC was ₹74.84 LPA, Average CTC was ₹28.18 LPA and Median CTC was ₹27.00 LPA, all stated directly in SIBM’s own CRP 2025 report. Over 110 recruiters participated (60 legacy recruiters and 52 new ones), and students earned 132 Pre-Placement Offers (PPOs) through summer internships, live projects and corporate competitions.

  • CTC by percentile: Top 10% averaged ₹39.76 LPA, Top 25% ₹33.84 LPA, Top 50% ₹29.83 LPA.
  • Offers by sector: IT/E-Commerce 22%, BFSI 16%, FMCG/FMCD 15%, Consulting 14%, Automotive/Manufacturing 6%, Healthcare 6%, Media/Telecom 2%, Others 19%.
  • Average CTC by specialisation: Marketing ₹29.48 LPA, Operations ₹27.41 LPA, Human Resources ₹26.09 LPA, Finance ₹25.73 LPA.
  • New recruiters named in the report include Alvarez & Marsal, Apple India, SAP Labs India, BNY Mellon, Wipro Consulting, HCLTech, JSW Paints and Nayara Energy.
  • Batch profile: Average age 24.55 years, average work experience 16.45 months, 33% women, 41% freshers.

For context, the older report: SIBM’s CRP 2021 report (MBA Batch of 2020–22) recorded a Highest CTC of ₹45.50 LPA and an Average CTC of ₹23.06 LPA, with more than 100 recruiters.

Every figure above carries its batch year, exactly as SIBM’s own reports do. All CTC figures are in INR lakh per annum, as reported by the institute.

Rankings and Accreditation

NIRF 2025: Ranked #11 in the Management category — confirmed on SIBM Pune's own "About Us" page and its official blog, where the institute's director publicly discussed the ranking.

We have not included NAAC or NBA-specific grades here, since we could not independently verify a current, dated accreditation grade directly from sibm.edu.

What We Could Not Verify From Official Sources (and Why We're Leaving It Out)

The following are intentionally left out of this profile rather than filled with generic or third-party content: detailed campus facilities (hostel type beyond "three-sharing," library, labs, sports), student life and clubs, scholarship amounts and application process, sectional/overall cutoff scores, and a side-by-side comparison with SCMHRD, NMIMS and IMT Ghaziabad. None of these were confirmable from SIBM Pune's own official pages at the time of writing. We'd rather leave a section incomplete than publish an unverified number.

Who Should Consider SIBM Pune

Based only on what's confirmed above: a candidate targeting SNAP-based admission, comfortable with a roughly ₹29–30 lakh total cost for the flagship MBA, and applying to a deemed university with a confirmed NIRF Management rank of 11 in 2025.

Before applying, check directly on sibm.edu: the exact fee document for your specific batch, the programme's current specialisations, and the institute's latest official placement report.
